Through volunteering I have made connections, entered shows, helped other artists, and basically enriched my life by becoming an active member of local organizations.
Because of funding, many of these organizations need to stay separate, but they all work with each other to support local arts, artists, and more. I am an active member of each of these organizations.
Mostly known for organizing the local Open Studios tour every year in May. Also connects with local businesses to display Art. Offers free online gallery space for members and keeps tabs on local events, including Calls for Art.
A new organization in a young community that is already influencing the City and Institutions in the area. A great chance to get involved in something in its early stages.
Livermore Art Association provides support on many levels: they have a Gallery, a member show that runs only for a weekend but features hundreds of artworks,, and they were the first in the area to manage an online store.
Pleasanton Art League helped get me connect with artists and invited me into a community I didn't know I needed. Perfect for the busy person who still wants Art in their life.
Groups of people who meet outside, somewhere, and paint or draw. All levels of artists are encouraged to join. Some paint at locations all over the Bay Area and others paint locally.
Started by myself, Tuan Karsevar, and May Yin Giang in early 2023. We just wanted to paint once a week, locally. All are welcome to join us.
Nancy Roberts, the goddess of landscape painting, helps drive this group. They paint anywhere and usually on Thursdays.
This group is free, casual, non-instructional and open to everyone. Just show up! Annual calendar and information is available by contacting Becky Davies at: beccamae30@yahoo.com
