LIMITED PALETTE, July 31 to November 2, 2023
Artists will challenge themselves by painting with only a few tubes of paint; this is called a Limited Palette. They will select a light or white color, a dark or black color, and a few medium tones to create a full picture. Other artists throughout history have employed a limited palette at times, such as Anders Zorn (Swedish Painter, 1860-1920), John Singer Sargeant (American Painter, 1856-1925), and Claude Monet (French Painter, 1840-1926).
Do the palettes chosen in this show change the mood of each piece? Do you think they would be stronger or weaker with a full spectrum? Do you think Limited Palette art leaves the work lacking or feeling unfinished? Stop by the Berkshire Hathaway Home Services office to answer these questions.
Reception date and time TBD.
